The Urobiome Research Interest Group (U-RIG) includes CAIRIBU and non-CAIRIBU investigators interested in the urobiome. Investigators are clinicians and scientists from a variety of fields including urology, urogynecology, microbiology, microbial ecology, virology, bioinformatics, and computer and data science.

U-RIG Virtual Trainee Summer Camp

For Summer 2026, Urobiome RIG will host a 3-part professional development series primarily for graduate students and post-doctoral researchers but open to any trainee at any training stage

On Friday, April 24, 2026 Xintong Dong, PhD (UT Dallas) presented “Antimicrobial peptide signaling in urinary tract infection,” and Kymora Scotland, MD, PhD (UCLA) presented “Kidney Stones Harbor Bacterial Bunkers.”
