Join Dr. Wessells and investigators from CAIRIBU, a community of investigators who study benign diseases and disorders of the genitourinary tract, for a conversation about the use of surveys and other information-gathering tools among patients in the UroEDIC cohort to phenotype urological complications in type 1 diabetes. Dr. Wessells will address the development of these tools and the translation of research findings, specifically those related to male erectile dysfunction, to clinical practice and to broader priorities for clinical/translational and basic science research. A panel discussion of epidemiological, clinical, and basic science researchers engaged in benign genitourinary research will follow to stimulate and target discussion to understanding how lessons from the UroEDIC study can be adapted to research in other areas of the lower urinary tract and to improvements in clinical management.

CAIRIBU Catalyst Conversations are aimed at building bridges between clinical and research disciplines and between CAIRIBU investigators and those from the broader benign urology research community. These virtual events will be held periodically and will feature leaders in benign urology who have tools, technologies, approaches, and techniques that may be relevant to investigators engaged in research in other aspects of the lower urinary tract. CAIRIBU Catalyst Conversations will be structured so as to maximize participation, discussion, and the sharing of ideas. All events are virtual, free, and open to all.
