Alison Huang, MD, MAS Appointed Editor in Chief of JAMA+ Trials

Alison Huang, MD, MAS, PI of the University of California San Francisco KUroEpi program, has been appointed Editor in Chief of JAMA+ Trials, a new online platform that highlights the vision, innovation, and resilience of clinical trial research.

Dr. Huang shares her vision for the new journal: “JAMA+ Trials celebrates every trial across the JAMA Network, whether it be a multinational industry- or government-sponsored enterprise, or a small, scrappy investigator-initiated trial delivering outsized value on a modest budget. On this platform, readers will find multimedia features highlighting cross-cutting themes and emerging trends in clinical trial research; tailored resources about trial design, conduct, reporting, and interpretation; and a searchable collection of all recent clinical trial research reports published across the JAMA Network. Through curated access to the JAMA Network’s trial content and resources, as well as new features to highlight their meaning, JAMA+ Trials represents and reinforces our dedication to a rigorous research methodology spanning many clinical topics, populations, and interventions.

JAMA+ Trials is designed for a diverse global audience: established and aspiring trialists; clinicians and health system leaders seeking evidence for practice; patient and community partners; translational researchers; students and learners; and anyone seeking to understand how and why trials matter. We seek to build bridges between the clinical trial community and the broader medical and public health community who depend upon trial results to guide decision-making. We illuminate how interventional research varies or converges across different clinical disciplines, funding sources, health care settings, and geographic regions. We aim not only to showcase the value of clinical trials, but to foster honest dialogue about the challenges and controversies they face—through commentary, discussion, and debate.”

Congratulations to Dr. Huang for this incredible honor.
