Biography

Dr. Abigail Shatkin-Margolis cares for patients with female pelvic floor disorders. She specializes in diagnosing and treating pelvic organ prolapse (when an organ such as the bladder drops into the vagina), urinary and fecal incontinence, genitourinary and rectovaginal fistulas (abnormal connections between various pelvic organs), overactive bladder and bladder pain syndrome. In research, Shatkin-Margolis is interested in improving treatment and surgical outcomes for patients with these conditions, as well as investigating disparities in care. Her K12 work is centered on understanding the long-term consequences of pelvic surgery on lower urinary tract symptoms in women.
