Organized by the Pediatric KIDney Stone (PKIDS) Care Improvement Network, the fall 2020 symposium is an opportunity to learn about the experience of children and adolescents with kidney stones. The symposium will reach a variety of audiences: current patients with kidney stones and their families, practicing and trainee physicians who treat kids with kidney stones, and researchers looking to explore partner-based research.

AGENDA AT A GLANCE:
- Welcome (12:00-12:15 p.m.) – Gregory Tasian, MD, MSc, MSCE and Jonathan Ellison, MD. PKIDS mission and structure; symposium overview.
- Speaker (12:15-12:45 p.m.) – Hunter Beck (patient). One of the youngest and most active members of the PKIDS Patient and Family Partners Advisory Board. He will give a personal account about his experience managing kidney stones during his childhood and teenage years.
- Networking Activity (12:45-1:15 p.m.) – Relationship building and peer networking.
- Breakout sessions (1:15-2:30 p.m.) – (1) Care Improvement – Tools and techniques for incorporating best practices; development of a multidisciplinary stone clinic; or (2) Advocacy, Participation, and Partnership – Approaching and engaging participants and the value of research with patient, researcher, and physician partnership.
- Speakers (2:30-3:30 p.m.) – Angela Smith, MD, MS and John Gore, MD, MS. Success of prior patient-centered research in urology.
