ARCTICS (Advancing the Research Capacity of Trainees and Investigators at early-Career Stages) forums aim to provide resources and skills to the next generation of leaders in non-malignant genitourinary research.
In this forum, investigators will discuss budgeting strategies across different career stages. Petra Popovics, PhD (Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University) will cover financial considerations when starting your first lab as an independent scientist and managing budgets after securing a major grant. Johanna Hannan, PhD (University of Wisconsin-Madison, formerly at East Carolina University) will share insights on relocating an established lab to a new institution, and Jill Macoska, PhD (University of Massachusetts Boston) will explore managing multiple budgets in a busy research environment. Each speaker will present for 15 minutes, followed by a 15-minute panel discussion.
