ARCTICS (Advancing the Research Capacity of Trainees and Investigators at early-Career Stages) forums aim to provide resources and skills to the next generation of leaders in non-malignant genitourinary research.
In this forum, attendees will hear from scientists trained in urology research about how they got to where they are.
The event will open with Kristina Penniston, PhD, PI, CAIRIBU Interactions Core, who will present key outcomes from the “Stemming the Academic Brain Drain” networking session held at the 2023 CAIRIBU Annual Meeting. Following this, panelist Margot Damaser, PhD, Career Scientist, Cleveland Clinic, will share her experience in building successful connections with industry partners as an academician. Then, Magda Grabowska, PhD, Senior Director, BioSkryb Genomics, will discuss her transition from academia to a career in industry, highlighting how she has leveraged her experience in academia to build bridges between the two fields . The forum will conclude with a Q&A session and an open-floor discussion, offering attendees the opportunity to engage with these accomplished scientists.
