
George M. O’Brien Centers
The George M. O’Brien Urology Cooperative Research Centers Program (U54) promotes collaboration among basic, translational, and clinical researchers to study non-malignant genitourinary diseases within NIDDK’s mission. It serves as a national resource, offering educational enrichment and pilot project opportunities for innovative research and new investigators. The goal is to improve prevention and management of non-malignant genitourinary disorders through research excellence, resource sharing, core services, and a strong, well-trained research community.
