UW-Madison and Mayo Clinic KUH Generator TL1 Training Program

The KUH Generator Program is pre-and postdoctoral research training program spearheaded by UW-Madison and Mayo Clinic Rochester (MCR). Funded by the NIDDK, it is designed to train the next generation of researchers in Kidney (K), Urology (U), and Hematology (H) fields by providing immersive, interdisciplinary training that spans the full academic spectrum.

Appointment information: Up to 6 predoctoral and 6 postdoctoral trainees annually across both institutions will be awarded. Initial appointments are for 12 months; eligible for renewal for a second year based on satisfactory
progress. Appointments are funded through a Ruth L. Kirschstein Institutional National Research Service Award (NRSA) and include a stipend and funds at NRSA levels.

Eligibility: Cannot receive other federal salary support during TL1 appointment and must commit to full-time research training with a GENERATOR TL1-approved Mentor and Co-Mentor. Predoctoral applicants must have a baccalaureate degree and be enrolled in a PhD or equivalent research doctoral program, or a dual research/clinical doctorate like an MD/PhD, at MCR or UW-Madison.  Postdoctoral applicants must hold a PhD, MD, DVM, or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited domestic or foreign institution prior to appointment start (MDs: accepted for or completed relevant clinical training).
