CAIRIBU Graduate Student Seminars provide an informal, virtual platform for highlighting graduate students’ work while also offering insights into the labs involved in the CAIRIBU community.
The seminar will open with Dr. Petra Popovics, who will provide an overview of her lab at Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University. Following this, Popovics Lab graduate students Mariah Jensen-Wachspress and Samantha McGuire will present their research projects, titled “Impact of Age and Sleep Fragmentation on BPH Pathology” and “Identification of Epithelium-Derived Cytokines Driving Macrophage Trafficking and Foam Cell Formation,” respectively. The Popovics Lab aims to identify the molecular mechanism of inflammation-induced pathological changes in the prostate through translational research and the development of animal and cellular models.
