Overview

The Pollack lab at Stanford University is seeking a motivated postdoctoral scholar to lead studies on the molecular and cellular pathogenesis of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). BPH is the non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland that occurs in most older men, leading to significant urinary voiding problems. The postdoc will investigate the prostatic stromal and immune cell signals that drive abnormal prostate growth, with therapeutic implications, using a combination of genomic, molecular/cell biology, and tissue culture approaches. They will train within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, as part of the Stanford O’Brien Urology Research Center.

Required Qualifications

• Recent PhD (or MD/PhD) degree in a relevant field
• Research experience in molecular/cell biology and cell culture
• Proficiency in R and/or Python for data analysis is a plus
• Record of research productivity and publication
• Motivation to start or continue in benign urology research
• Written and verbal communication skills
