The Uro-Aging Research Interest Group (UroAging RIG) connects uro-aging interested CAIRIBU and non-CAIRIBU investigators from a variety of fields such as urology, urogynecology, geroscience, neurology, neuro-urology, urobiome, nutrition, toxicology, and bioinformatics. The UroAging RIG engages in monthly knowledge exchanges to discuss recent research, develop collaborations, and strategize on ways to advance uro-aging research. We meet virtually every fourth Monday. ALL are welcome. This month will feature two speakers from the University of Pittsburgh. Becky Clarkson, PhD will present "Situational Incontinence: Addressing the brain's role in bladder behavior" and Shachi Tyagi, MD, MS will present "Nocturia in Older Adults: Breaking Etiologic Silos."

The Department of Pathobiological Sciences Seminar Series presents: Feeling the Force: PIEZO ion channels in interoception. This in-person talk will feature Dr. Kara Marshall (Baylor College of Medicine), whose lab studies internal mechanosensation to answer questions such as "How do specialized epithelial cells coordinate with sensory neurons in the urinary tract?" or "What is the sensor for internal pain during pathologies?" This talk will be of great interest to the larger Neuroscience, Neuro-urology, Benign Urology, and Sensory Neurobiology research communities.
