OKRA Resource Showcase Travel Award

The inaugural George M. O’Brien Kidney Resource Alliance (OKRA) Resource Showcase will take place on April 6 in Washington, DC. This event will provide an opportunity for robust networking while facilitating a thorough understanding of the services and resources available through the OKRA Consortium’s seven National Resource Centers (NRCs). Highlights include breakout sessions with OKRA PIs and key personnel and opportunities to receive guidance on writing successful proposals, research questions, and aims pages. Early-career investigators* engaged in basic, clinical, or translational research relevant to the goals of OKRA and who plan to conduct research utilizing Consortium resources are eligible to apply to receive up to $1,250 to reimburse travel-associated costs. Approximately 50 early-career investigator awardees will be selected to attend the 2026 OKRA Resource Showcase. Current OKRA key personnel are ineligible.

Applicants must submit an online application which includes the Specific Aims page or summary of their proposed research project and a description of at least one OKRA resource that they are interested in utilizing for their study (one page maximum). *For the purposes of this announcement, early-career investigators are those who hold Early-Stage Investigator (ESI) status as defined by the NIH.
